General Motors: Maxis
Lead UX Designer & Product Strategist 2016-2018
Maxis, short for “Maximizing Insights”, was a multi-million dollar investment in data technology at General Motors. It’s purpose was to make all the information in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) accessible for thousands of internal GM employees, including anyone from business analysts and C-suite executives, to software engineers and data scientists.
I owned the the UX and product design of Maxis and was embedded on a 300 person engineering team of software engineers, platform engineers and architects at GM’s Innovation Center in Austin, TX. I designed the Maxis UX, UI and visual design and helped managed the team of developers who built it. I worked hand-in-hand with development leads and the Director of Global Engineering.
Maxis won a CIO 100 IT Excellence award in 2017 and the business benefit of Maxis exceeded $100 million in 2017, and doubled that amount through 2018.
